Brownie Pops

I've tried to make bakerella's cake pops before, but they didn't work out for me. They always fell apart. I guess using cake was to fragile, but with brownies they are firmer so it works better. I got this recipe from Pampered Chef. They make a pretty big mess, but they are so yummy. 1 pkg fudge brownie mix (plus ingredients to make brownies)
24 candy canes (I used minis)
10 oz chocolate-flavored almond bark (I used the chocolate candy melts, white and brown)
sprinkles for topping (my favorite was the crushed candy cane)

yield: 24 pops

1. Bake brownies in pan as directed
2. Meanwhile break off straight ends of candy cans for the sticks. Use the left over hook part to crush up to use later for topping
3. When brownies are still warm take a scooper (pampered chef medium scoop works well) and scoop brownie into 24 rounded scoops. Roll in hands to make a ball shape (entire brownie will be used)
4. Insert candy cane sticks in each ball.
5. Melt chocolate bark (or candy melts) as directed. If its not smooth you can add some veggetable oil to thin it out. Spoon chocolate on to each ball. And sprinkle with desired toppings. Stand upright into mini cupcake liners

Fruit Gobbler

I found this on the Family Fun website and thought it was so cute. I didn't make it. I just copied the picture from the site. I already know that cheese and grapes taste good. I just wanted the picture of it so I can have something to refer to whenever I get put back into a calling like Enrichment leader and I have to come up with cute ideas for the food table Bosc pear (head)
Melon (body)
Cheese (beak and tail feathers)
Red pepper (snood, feet and side feathers)
Raisins (eyes)
Grapes (tail feathers)
Bamboo skewers
Toothpicks

1. Stabilize the melon body by cutting a shallow slice off the rind to form a flat base. Using a section of bamboo skewer, attach a Bosc pear head to the melon, as shown.
2. Cut a cheese triangle beak and red pepper snood. Attach both, along with raisin eyes, to the head with sections of toothpick.
3. Cut red pepper feet and set them in place. For tail feathers, skewer cheese cubes and red grapes, then insert the skewers as shown. Pin pepper side feathers in place with toothpicks.

Holiday Pretzel Treats

These are super simple and very cute. You can customize these to fit any holiday or occasion by using different types of hershey kisses and m&m's. On these I used carmel kisses and halloween colored m&m's

waffle shaped pretzels

Hershey kisses (any kind)

M&M's(colors to match the occasion)

Preheat 170*. Place pretzels on pan lined with parchment paper. Top pretzels with kisses. Bake 4-6 minutes until soft when touched. Take out and quickly press m&m in middle of chocolate. Chill for 10 minutes to set

Witch Hats and Ghost Cookies

Sorry, for some reason I couldn't get good pictures of these. They are so easy to make and the kids can help easily.

For the witch hats:
Use Fudge Stripe cookies, Kisses, and icing(whatever color desired).
I iced the ribbon before putting the Kiss on.

For the ghosts:
Use Vanilla Almond Bark, Nutter Butter cookies, and mini chocolate chips.
Melt the Bark and dip the cookies. Then, place eyes on cookie. *(Hint: If bark hardens, just reheat)*

Cheesy Breadsticks- Marina

These breadsticks can be made in any shape. I made them into bones here, but I've also done candy canes, letters--anything goes.
Package of pillsbury breadsticks
butter
parmesan cheese
Break apart breadsticks at perforations. Dip in melted butter. Roll in parmesan cheese. Cook at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes.
These are SO good. Everybody loves them.

Apple Bites-- Marina

This is so fun for Halloween:
Quarter and core an apple. Cut a "V" shape out of the skin side of each quarter. Insert almonds into the "V." Cut any more details you prefer. Wa-lah!!! You have apple bites.
Of course, if you use red apples it will look even better. Soak in OJ to preserve.
